Everyone has heard of Clark Kent, a “mild-mannered reporter by day for a great metropolitan newspaper,” who can turn into Superman in a moment’s notice.  But there are women in the community who also are living double lives.  Who are they, and how does a “BEEHIVE” fit into their lives?

Halicraft Art Festival to raise funds for town clock project

Everything is coming together for the upcoming Halicraft Art Festival to be held on Saturday, April 5, from 9 a.m.-3 p.m. in the Town of Halifax.  The event is the work of the Halifax Village Association, and its goal is to help raise funds for the town clock project.  

Chamber banquet set Tuesday

The Halifax County Chamber of Commerce Annual Meeting and Awards Banquet will be held from 5 to 9 p.m. Tuesday at the World of Sports. 

After Hours with the Author slated Tuesday at library

The library will debut a new program at the Halifax County Library, After Hours with the Author.  

Jobless rate on rise in Halifax County

The jobless rate in Halifax County jumped by a full percentage point in January as more residents searched for jobs. However, the unemployment rate still managed to remain below double digits.
