We’ve Got Rhythm competition dance team participated in the Excel in Motion dance convention on Jan. 25-26 in Charlotte, N.C. The goal of Excel in Motion is to bring the hottest professional dancers and choreographers to elite dance students and impart to them the newest dance knowledge.
The We’ve Got Rhythm Dance Academy students studied lyrical, contemporary, animation, jazz and hip hop from experts such as Kent Boyd, Alex Wong, Mollee Gray, Comfort Fedoke, Cyrus Spencer, Ade Chike Torbert, Courtney Ortiz, Brandon Bryant, Ellenore Scott, Brian Henninger and Casie Goshow.
Kent Boyd is a professional contemporary dancer. He was runner up on season seven of “So You Think You Can Dance.” He also had acting and dancing roles in the movies, “Jack and Jill,” “Teen Beach Movie,” “It Remains” and “Chasing Hayes.”
His TV credits include “Glee,” “Shake It Up” and “Mobbed.”
Wong is a highly trained dancer. He danced with the American Ballet Theatre earning a master soloist position. He was also in season seven of “So You Think You Can Dance.” He earned an Emmy Award for his dancing.
Wong performed on Broadway in “Sniper” and “Newsies.” He has won two Tonys and was nominated six times. Alex has been on the TV shows “Smash,” “The Ellen Show,” “The Voice” and “Glee.”
Mollee Gray is an accomplished dancer. Gray made it to the top eight in “So You Think You Can Dance.”
She had lead dance roles in all three “High School Musical” movies. She also acted and danced in the films “No Strings Attached,” “Out of Step,” “The American Mall” and “Teen Beach Movie.”
Gray has played a part in the TV shows “Big Time Rush,” “Victorious,” “Drop Dead Diva” and “Glee.”
