Christmas tradition with a train emphasis is the theme of the South Boston/Halifax County Museum’s holiday display this year.
The public is invited to come to the rescheduled Open House on Sunday from 2 to 3:30 p.m. to kick off the holiday season.
The Open House had been scheduled for Dec. 8 but was moved up a week to this Sunday due to last weekend’s inclement weather.
Model train layouts, a display of rooms of the past ready for the holidays, pictures with Santa, light refreshments and the chance to see the new historic display in the caboose will highlight Sunday’s Open House at the museum.
Ron and Judith Miller are responsible for the scenery of Halifax County train stations of the 1930-40s and the era style trains running through the layout. Kids of all ages will really enjoy this.
Additionally, Lynne Curley will be doing a live demonstration of spinning wool in one of the room areas. That’s a lot of fun to pack into one afternoon.
