The annual Holiday Living Show brought out approximately 1,300 shoppers and browsers to Halifax County High School Saturday and Sunday, with almost $8,000 raised toward scholarships for area students, according to Ruth Smith of the Business Women’s Association of Halifax County.
This year’s hottest items included goat soaps and hand-painted items from Lisa Bowen and wreaths by J&M Crafts from Chase City, Smith said.
She estimated 115 vendors were on hand, many who are Holiday Living Show veterans.
Everything from jewelry to wreaths, from hand-made furniture to antiques, from baked goods to crafts was displayed this year.
The hot, fresh kettle corn also was a hit for those coming into and leaving the show.
The weather over the weekend was wonderful, according to Smith.
Organizers estimated the crowd at roughly around 1,000 on Saturday and a little more than 300 on Sunday.
