Cruise-in spotlights local antique vehicles

Viny Sarnataro, president of Italian Delight Family Restaurant located in Halifax Square in Centerville, hosted and sponsored a Tinkers Car Club cruise-in on Saturday, Sept. 14, at his restaurant.

The cruise-in had about 60 antique vehicles, streetrods, classic cars and trucks, including a recently acquired antique fire truck that has a lot of local history, on display for a day of perfect weather and fun for all.

Sarnataro has a keen interest in these vehicles and continues to support the Tinkers Car Club with a donation after each cruise-in from the proceeds of food sales during the cruise-in, according to Jimmy Lee Wilborn, president of Tinkers Car Club.

Tinkers Car Club uses the donations exclusively for its program that helps needy individuals and families in the area, especially during the holiday season.

Wilborn said, “The Tinkers were really pleased with the turnout of vehicles for the cruise-in, and our club members are especially thankful to Viny and his staff for the continuing support and help given the club and its outreach program.

“We are also extremely appreciative of all the vehicle owners who came out for the cruise-in, and the fellowship shared during the event, as well as for all the visitors that came to see the cars and experience our car hobby with us,” he added.

Sarnataro and his Italian Delight staff have a solid reputation for their enthusiasm for helping many community organizations, the president concluded.
