Festival to feature bluegrass melodies

Hi Grass will perform at the Halifax County Heritage and Antique Machinery Festival slated for the first weekend in May at the Halifax County Fairgrounds in South Boston.   Hi Grass is a five-piece bluegrass band that has been performing to audiences for several years.  Their blend of perfect harmonies and driving instrumentation make Hi Grass a bluegrass band that is setting the trend for up-tempo contemporary and old time string music.

Band members include Harvey Driggs on banjo and Ida Driggs on guitar.  Freida Penza plays dobro, Charles Crowley plays bass, and Lewis Oliver plays mandolin.

Hi Grass has played every venue from the smallest festival to large events, private parties, community events, private fundraisers as well as concerts and birthday parties.

Hi Grass and other bluegrass and gospel groups will be performing throughout the weekend, and everyone is invited to come out for a full weekend of fun and entertainment for the whole family.

The Heritage Festival Committee is pleased to have been chosen to feature Ferguson and Massey-Ferguson tractors at this year’s show.  Whether in original condition, partially restored or fully restored, Ferguson and Massey-Ferguson owners are encouraged to display their tractors and implements during the three-day event.
