The 63rd annual observance of the National Day of Prayer was held Thursday night at Halifax County High School. Hundreds attended the evening of prayer that featured testimony, song and recognitions.
Prayers were offered for the seven centers of power including nation, family, military, business, church, education and government.
Those offering public prayers at this year’s event included William Snead, Mark Thackston, Ed Owens, Andy Flowers, Faye Bruce, Ami Hudson and Tracy Quackenbush Martin.
Testimonies were offered by Young Life Leader Sarah Reaves and Jeff Davis of Halifax County Public Schools.
The highlight of the evening was testimony and music performed by country songwriter T. Graham Brown.
Also performing was the Halifax County Middle School Chorus.
The theme for this year’s National Day of Prayer was “One Voice United In Prayer” taken from Romans 15:6 “So that with one mind and one voice you may glorify the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ.”
