Halifax County Cancer Association will host a spaghetti supper fundraiser on Friday at American Legion Post 8 at 1710 Jeffress Blvd., in South Boston from 5 to 7 p.m.
Tickets are $7 for adults and $3 for ages 10 and under and include spaghetti, salad, drink and dessert. Dine in or take out plates will be available.
A luminary service will be held after the spaghetti supper at 8 p.m. The service will be held as a way to honor or remember a loved one who is fighting or has lost their battle to cancer.
Luminary bags will be available for $5, and persons may decorate it in a way that represents their loved ones.
On Friday, the bags will be lit, and names will be read to memorialize or honor family and friends. Bags may be purchased at the event.
“We hope you will join us for this moving memorial service,” said Sharon Blosser, director of patient services for the Halifax County Cancer Association.
