Farmers, artisans, crafters converge in Halifax for indoor show Saturday

The Town of Halifax Farmers Market will Swing Into Spring with its first annual indoor Spring Bazaar on Saturday from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. 

“The market will be a buzz with local farmers, artisans, crafters and home-based businesses,” said Halifax Assistant Town Manager Denise Barksdale. 

Hudson Heritage Farms will have a new batch of goat and lamb, plus pork sausage and beef. Also at the Hudson Heritage booth, not only will visitors enjoy fresh hot samples, but they will be able to purchase a special treat with Ashton Hall’s Cheese Wafers and Springfield Farm’s Mustards. 

Country Charm Farm spring photos will be available just in time for Easter or that special Mother’s Day gift. Country Charm Farm will be set up to take spring/Easter photos at the Halifax Farmers Market on Saturday from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. 

Those attending can create that special memory by having spring pictures taken with some of Country Charm’s adorable, friendly, miniature kid goats. 

“The children will love it,” said Barksdale. “Come prepared, you may even want a photo of your own.”

Country Charm Farm also will have available for purchase some their wonderful goat milk soaps and lotions along with handcrafted items.

Simple Grace Farms will have soaps, shampoo bars, lotions, body scrubs, garden railroad bugs, horseshoe infinity knots, horseshoe door-knockers, wine cork trivets and fresh eggs for sale.  

ANZ’s Farms will have baby bunnies for sale along with goat/rabbit berry all natural fertilizer in small burlap bags. 

Marigold Farms, a hobby farm, will be featuring all things herbal, including ME ME’s STUFF, herbs and herbals, salve products and healthy baked items. 

Huisman Farm and Flowers will have homemade candies along with candy bouquets and baked goods. 

Great Oak Farm will have pork, eggs and veggies.

Naturally Artistic Dog Grooming will be on site offering free doggie nail clipping (small dogs only). 

Halifax County Humane Society will be hosting an adopt-a-thon. 

Southside Virginia Herbal Society will have a great display of biblical herbs for all to enjoy. 

In addition, visitors should stop by and visit some of the local informational booths including the Halifax County Library, Benchmark Community Bank and Berry Hill Health and Rehab.

Along with local farmers, there will be 30 plus vendors consisting of local artisans, crafters and home based businesses, with goods including items such handmade crafts, handmade jewelry, floral arrangements, gift baskets, handmade aprons, hot/cold packs, handmade quilts, personalized items, handmade scarves, ceramics, handmade tutus, paracord items, knitted items, recycled crafts, homemade candies, beautiful handmade birdhouses, hypertufa planters, wood crafts, corn hole boards along with the bags and many more, Barksdale said.

The home-based businesses on site for the Spring Bazaar will include Origami Owl Jewelry, Paparazzi, Thirty One, Scentsy, Celebrating Home, Tastefully Simple, Grace Adele and Pampered Chef and more.
