Virginia National Bank reports 2012 results

Virginia National Bank of Charlottesville reported net income of $3.776 million for the fourth quarter of 2012, or $1.41 per share for the three months ended Dec. 31. This result is a 266 percent increase in net income as compared to the three months ended Dec. 31, 2011, when net income was $1.033 million, or $0.38 per share. The return on average assets for the quarter ended Dec. 31, was 3.10 percent, as compared to 0.90 percent in the same period in 2011. 

SunTrust to close its branch office in Centerville

SunTrust customers received news this week the Centerville branch at 4027 Halifax Road in South Boston will close its doors May 24.

Line crews among those honored for Superstorm Sandy recovery efforts

 

 

Line crews from Mecklenburg Electric Cooperative (MEC) and seven other Virginia electric cooperatives that traveled out-of-state to help restore electric service following Superstorm Sandy have been honored by the Virginia, Maryland and Delaware Association of Electric Cooperatives (VMDAEC).
