Chamber seminar focuses on social marketing

The Halifax County Chamber of Commerce will present a seminar on The Power of Email and Social Marketing from 4 to 5:30 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 2, at Four Oaks Restaurant and Lounge.

The seminar is designed to help businesses use social media to increase their bottom line, according to Chamber President Nancy Pool.

Gina Watkins of Constant Contact will teach the best practices for a business’ social media presence and demonstrate how to launch and manage an effective social campaign.

Whether a business is just starting out in social media or considered a seasoned professional, Watkin’s session will deliver real-world tools and strategies for immediate success, Pool said.

“Although the topics and strategies may be cutting edge, it doesn’t take an interactive guru to ‘get it.’ Gina simplifies the information and provides essential basics, secrets and shortcuts that make it easy for seminar attendees to get on their way fast,” Pool added.

Topics to be discussed include:  Building an email list, getting emails opened and read, getting message to the right people at the right time, improving customer loyalty and enhancing marketing with social media.

Admission is $15 for chamber members and $20 for non-members, and that includes light snacks.

Register online at or by calling the chamber office at 434-572-3085.
