As growing season heats up, SoBo Farmers Market opens

The public is invited to a grand opening celebration Saturday at the Downtown South Boston Farmers Market located at 300 Broad Street in South Boston. 

Come enjoy refreshments, music and lots of homegrown and homemade goodies from people you know and trust.  The market will be open beginning at 7 a.m. until the farmers sell out of home grown tomatoes, beets, cabbage, squash, new potatoes, cucumbers, onions, turnip salad, string beans, crafts, vegetable plants, flowers, baked goods, jams and jellies, pasture-fed beef and real country sausage.

The Bluegrass Five will perform from 9 to 10 a.m.  

Virginia Cooperative Extension will be on hand with the Master Gardeners Help Desk. 

There will be refreshments and door prizes. 

The Farmers Market is located at 300 Broad Street in the parking lot behind Caffe Peroni and Distinct Impressions.
