The South Boston Medical Fund has been awarded to Halifax Regional Hospice & Palliative Care, thanks to the work of the Halifax County Advisory Committee. The committee consists of a few prominent members of Halifax County who wish to see the county grow and prosper.
The Halifax Regional Hospice & Palliative Care received $875 to support local indigent care. The Community Foundation recently presented the check at the Halifax Regional Hospice & Palliative Care office.
The South Boston Medical Fund was created in 2011 to support indigent care in Halifax County and general Halifax County charitable causes.
The Community Foundation of the Dan River Region hopes to continue to grow this field of interest fund to enable more grants to be given in the future. The next cycle of grant applications will be taken in August.
