 Halifax County Fair, Hwy. 360, South Boston … Oct. 1-5. Grandstand entertainment will include On The Border, an Eagles tribute band, followed by country music star Jason Michael Carroll Oct. 2, The Magnificents, a classic Motown, beach and soul band, Oct. 3; Halifax County’s own Turkey Scratch Outlaw Americana Band Oct. 4; Halifax Co. 4-H Talent Show Oct. 5, 10 a.m.; bluegrass bands throughout the day Oct. 5 including Bluegrass Goodtime Band at noon, Homegrown Bluegrass Band at 2 p.m., Lawson Creek Band at 4 p.m., and The Grascals at 8 p.m.

 Crossroads Emporium & Flea Market, Clarksville … Open Jam Night Oct. 5, 6 p.m., welcome solo acts or bands, pickers or grinners.
