Summer concert series features Love Tribe Friday in Constitution Square

The Destination Downtown South Boston Summer Concert Series will feature the Love Tribe party band Friday from 8 to 11:30 p.m. in Constitution Square.

Gates open at 7:30 p.m., and tickets are $10.  Advance tickets are  $8, and children under 10 get in free with an adult.  Advance tickets are available at Avon, Caffe Peroni, BISTRO 1888, True Value, Main Street Office, McCollum-Ferrell Shoes, Heritage House Home Furnishing or Visitor Center.

According to Executive Director of Destination Downtown Tamyra Vest, great food, music and beverages will be available for everyone.

Love Tribe is the ultimate high-energy good time party band playing a wide range of music from the 70s, R&B to 80s pop to 90s rock, as well as the radio hits of today, and literally anything and everything in between, Vest said.

According to their online biography, Love Tribe puts on a non-stop adrenaline fueled show that doesn’t slow down until the last song is through. From Stevie Wonder to Journey to Cee Lo Green to Bon Jovi, every song is a familiar favorite that has the crowd heading to the dance floor to move, groove and sing along.

Sponsors for the event include Bistro 1888, Downtown South Boston, Common Grounds, Miller Light, Mike Hard Lemonade, Leinenkugel’s Summer Shandy and Fat Tire.

Next up, the series will feature Matt Boswell and the Hillbilly Blues Band on Aug. 16.

Vest encourages guests to bring their own lawn chairs.
