NEWS

Announced on KidRock.com, Kid Rock will launch a massive “$20 Best Night Ever” U.S. summer tour. Tickets are $20 in all sections (reserved seats and lawn), as well as lowered prices on everything from parking to beer to merchandise for every show in every city. Cool, huh?

Kid Rock and his Twisted Brown Trucker Band will perform under the stars in amphitheaters this summer, beginning June 28 at Jiffy Lube Live in Bristow, and ending Sept. 15 in Florida. There also will be a stop at Verizon Wireless Amphitheater in Charlotte, N.C. Sept. 10. 

Kool & The Gang, ZZ Top and Uncle Kracker will support at the Bristow stop; ZZ Top and Uncle Kracker will open the Charlotte show.

 Halifax County High School, South Boston … Blessed Hope Halifax and the “Soldiers of the Cross” present Brian Free & Assurance live in concert April 19. Doors open at 6 p.m., concert starts at 7 p.m.  Admission is free, the sponsors just ask that everyone who has the means to bring two canned food items or a non-perishable item to jump start a new food ministry in the Town of Halifax.

 Constitution Square, South Boston … Destination Downtown South Boston summer concert series kicks off May 31 with Bluegrass in the Square featuring Hi Grass and Lawson Creek Grass bands. The second concert in the series will feature the high energy party band, Love Tribe, June 28 and the final performance in the series will be Matt Boswell & The Hillbilly Blues Band Aug. 16. Gates open at 7:30 p.m. Tickets are $8 in advance, $10 at gate, available at the tourism office, True Value, Heritage House Furniture, Caffe Peroni, McCollum-Ferrell and the DDSB office.
