After months of dormancy, an old house in Scottsburg has once again started showing signs of “life.” Strange lights, stranger sounds and shadows have been moving in preparation for its awakening this weekend as once again the Scottsburg Volunteer Fire Department presents the Scottsburg House of Horror for the 2012 season.
Scottsburg Volunteer Fire Department President Ricky Gordon said, “If you have ever been through the house, then you have never been through it because so much has changed this year. I don’t think that there is anywhere that was the same last year. Even though the house didn’t grow, there have still things that have been added.”
The Scottsburg House of Horror is a fundraiser for the Scottsburg Volunteer Fire Department. This event is for entertainment purposes but is not recommended for young children.
As a precaution, people who are affected by flashing lights, extreme darkness, fog machines and enclosed places are recommended not to attend.
Admission is $7 per person with all proceeds going to the Scottsburg Volunteer Fire Department.
The Scottsburg House of Horror will be open Oct. 19, 20, 26, 27 and 31 starting each night at 7 p.m.
“Since it is mainly an inside attraction, we will be open regardless of weather,” Gordon said.
Food will be available on site by Backyard Grillers.
