Saturday event at Applebee’s raises money for production

Halifax County Little Theatre will sponsor a pancake breakfast at Applebee’s this Saturday from 8 to 10 a.m.  The proceeds from the breakfast will help with expenses for their upcoming musical, “BEEHIVE:  The 60’s Rock Musical,” which opens April 25.

For just $8, the hungry patron will get all the pancakes he or she can eat, as well as a serving of sausage and eggs and a beverage.  Of the $8 ticket charge, six of those dollars will go to help out “BEEHIVE.”

Musicals are very expensive to produce.  In addition to royalties and rental of the rights to do the show, which runs in the thousands of dollars, there are the expenses of lumber for the set, sound and microphone rental, costumes, programs, posters, makeup, ticketing charges, paint and more.

There are over 100 costumes for this show alone for a large cast of divas, do-wops and dancers.

“BEEHIVE” is truly a musical experience that everyone should make plans to see, but it takes money to get it ready for the stage.

Come help out the BEEHIVERS by getting a ticket for this Saturday’s breakfast.  It’s yummy for the “innards” and rewarding to help out a good cause.  Buy a ticket for a friend and make someone else happy too.

“BEEHIVE” runs April 25 through May 4, and tickets are currently on sale at The Prizery or by calling 572-8339.

Anyone who wants pancake tickets may contact any cast or Little Theatre board member or call 579-5041 to speak to Little Theatre President Sandy Slayton.
